                                                                                   CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS FOR STUDENTS

I.BEHAVIOR

You are responsible for maintaining proper behavior which respects the rights of all individuals involved in the education process.

A.  You will keep your hands to yourself.

B.  You will listen when another is speaking.

C.  You will treat the property of others and the school with respect.




     II.ATTENDANCE

You are required to attend school regularly, to report to your classes on time and to make up work missed while absent.

A. Your grade is determined by your participation in class assignments and activities. 

B.  You are responsible for missed work. It is your job to find out what was missed.




   III.EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS

You are responsible for the proper care of all educational materials which you use in your classes.

A.  Your folders or workbooks will be kept in the mailbox that is provided for you.
 B.  Work areas, desks, and notebooks should be kept neat and clean.



     IV.CLASSROOM PARTICIPATION

You are responsible for participation in classroom activities and for completing assigned work.

A.  You will read aloud when called on.                                                                                                                                                                                                              B.  Small group and partner activities will be used regularly in class.




V.CLASSROOM RULES

You are responsible for following the specific classroom rules set by your teacher.

A.  Report to class on time and be prepared for instruction. 

B.  Respect your classmates, teacher, and your classroom.

C.  Raise hand to talk during instruction.

               D.  Keep hands and feet to yourself.

               E.  Complete all assignments neatly and on time.   

                 






VI.  GRADING PROCEDURES

You are responsible for understanding the grading procedures set by your teacher.

A.  Evaluations of daily work, class activities, projects, homework, quizzes and tests will be averaged as a total grade.  Students will receive letter grades based on their percentage.   See “Student Handbook” for the breakdown

B.  Class participation and effort are taken into consideration when factoring the total grade.



**  Come to class with a writing utensil EVERYDAY !!!   **

**  If you need to take a test in my classroom for another class.  I would like to be informed of the test before you come!

     Please, do not hesitate to contact me for any reason.   If I do not have the answer to your question or concern, I will find out the information for you or direct you to the correct contact person.

     It is my goal to have students feel comfortable and relaxed to see me if they need any help, support, etc.  Encourage your child to see me for help.  Also, encourage them to complete assignments on time, keep up with class work and to maintain appropriate behavior throughout the school day.
